Nevertheless, Buddhist Circuit Tour with Access Nepal takes you to some of the destinations in and around Kathmandu, which are linked with significant historical and religious stories on how Buddhism flourished in the Valley.

Buddhist Circuit Tour with Access Nepal takes you to the ancient stopover on Indo-China trade route, Boudhanath where travelers offered prayers for the safe journey to Tibet through Himalayan high passes. The tour allows you to experience traditional Tibetan Buddhism at self emerged Buddhist Shrine Swayambhunath. There are myths of the “precious one” Guru Rimpoche dwelling in the hills of Pharping before he moved to Tibet and this tour takes you to the monastic zone of Pharping which is almost 30 kilometer south east of Kathmandu. We will not let you miss to explore Patan Durbar Square, which embraces the prosperous history of Buddhism. The Buddhist Circuit Tour gets complete after the visit to the Kapon Monastery. Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche established Kapan Monastery in 1960, which is also the home for monks and nuns. The monastery offers Buddhist teachings to westerners as well so that inspiring principles of Tibetan Buddhism would flourish throughout the globe to make the earth a better place to live.

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu 1400m; Cordial welcome in the airport and transfer to your hotel; Welcome dinner in the evening in a cultural restaurant

Actually, Nepal opens in the air; just before the plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. If you are, lucky enough with the bright sunshine on your arrival day the wide range of soaring Himalayan Peaks to the North is a magnificent view. As you complete the immigration formalities of the airport and make your way out from the Arrivals Terminal, we would offer you a warm Nepalese welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel in a private vehicle. At hotel, you will have a very easy check-in procedure. Let the flight exhaustion go off in the cozy hotel room. In the evening, we will offer you a welcome dinner in one of the finest cultural restaurants of the city.

Day 02: Pilgrimage tour of Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Pharping

After the breakfast, we will drive to Boudhanath. A large domed shaped Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath holds huge religious significance among the Tibetan Buddhists of Nepal. A major shrine on ancient Indo-China trade route Boudhanath offered blessings to traders and scholars for safe journey through the high Himalayan passes to Tibet. Saffron robed monks circumambulating Boudhanath, colorful prayer flags touching the skyline from the dome pinnacle to the base of large monument and the and outlets selling Tibetan souvenirs makes this place a true Tibet outside Tibet. The Buddhist Pilgrimage Circuit in Kathmandu continues to Swayambhunath. A self-emerged Buddhist stupa that lies on a hilltop overlooks Kathmandu with its watchful eyes. You will get to experience more about Tibetan Buddhism at Swayambhunath. An entire hill is full of statues of Buddha in different mudras and monkeys hence giving the name “Monkey Temple” to this Heritage Site. After the exploration of Swayambhunath, we will enjoy our lunch in one of the finest restaurants nearby. Post lunch, we head to Pharping.  Nineteen kilometers south of Kathmandu, an interesting monastic zone lies. A monastic zone in fact the monastic hills of Pharping are fascinating. Ethnical tribe Newars, dominate the village culturally but Tibetan Buddhism prevails at Pharping religiously. The hills where Guru Rimpoche mediated before moving to Tibet are worthwhile exploring. In the evening, drive back to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square and in the evening drive to Kopan Monastery

After the breakfast, we will drive to Patan. An ancient town located to the south of Kathmandu, Patan holds historical richness of Buddhism. The city built by Charumati, the beloved princess of Emperor Ashoka has 18 major temples. The suburban region of Patan holds 4-Great Stupas of Ashoka, which stand tall in all four directions. Several other smaller stupas called Ashoka Chaityas scattered in the backstreets of Patan Durbar Square also show King Ashoka’s passion in spreading Buddhism in the region. After the exploration of Patan we will drive to Kopan Monastery- our home for the next three days where we will learn the wise teachings of Buddhism.

Day 04 & 05 Discover teachings of Buddhism at Kopan Monastery

On a hill north of Boudhanath, Kopan Monastery lies. With the magnificence of Bodhi Tree Kopan Monastery is the home to Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism. Under the guidance of learned Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the monastery offers divine isolation from rest of the world to 360 monks, lamas, teachers and workers.
