In November a group of 10 friends took a once in a life time trip to Everest BaseCamp,we decided to travel with Access Nepal who organised everything for us. They provided a detailed itenery from arrival to departure. Our guide Subodh met us at Kathmandu airport and presented us with beautiful marigold garlands and took us to our hotel. Sadhna the rep from Access Nepal went through the details of the trek and answered any questions we had and reassured us that she was at the end of the phone if we needed her. We met our assistant guide Yes and 5 porters in Lukla and off we trotted. We had a very pleasant trip up the mountain visiting the little villages and meeting the lovely locals not to mention the Yaks and donkeys in their droves carrying loads of supplies up the hillside. The tea houses were a welcome sight in the evenings where we enjoyed many games of cards and chatted to fellow travellers. We made it to BaseCamp November 13th, some of our group had medical issues subodh and Sadhna organised for them to go by helicopter to Kathmandu where they were looked after superbly. We enjoyed a tour of Kathmandu when we got back which was a brilliant. Overall , our visit Nepal was an unforgettable experience and we would love to return again and would highly recommend Access Nepal to anyone visiting this wonderful country.before we left we were presented with certificates and beautiful sashes to remember our trip.Ann F USA
We did a 19 day trek/tour with Access Nepal in Oct/Nov of 2015. Found them on the web and was very impressed by their immediate contact with us. Keshav did a great job of organizing our demands and his team of guides and porters were spectacular. We did the Gokyo valley, Cho La pass, Everest Base camp loop which I highly recommend. It adds a few miles to the trek but has some awesome views and far less people. They also have a large list of other tours as well. I did Bardia and Chitwan National parks after the trek and once again was very pleased with Access Nepal’s attention to detail.

From the moment I arrived at Kathmandu airport I was very well looked after and did not have to think about anything. The hotel was great, an oasis of tranquility in the craziness of Kathmandu. The day guide for Kathmandu that Sadhana organized for me was very knowledgeable, and again made the experience very easy.
Then there was the Himalayas……..wow….. what do you say! Our guide knew his stuff, and was a good judge of our capabilities and measured our pace accordingly. Tea house accommodations were excellent, (but read up about the experience so you are not surprised). The porters were just really nice people, and they didn’t miss a beat.

Me and my wife had a private trek to ebc with Access Nepal Tour & Trekking. Sadhana attended to us from day one untill we return to Kathmandu. The service she provide was superb. Our guide, Anoj and our porter were very helpful and move with our pace during trekking. Both of them never leave us behind.Our trip went south, when I was cought with HAPE.. that require us to descend immediately. Sadhana and the team efficiently call for assistant, and arrange with our insurance company to send a Heli for rescue.
This trip was not a succes story for me, but the journey was made beautiful by Sadhana and her team. Her reply to all my question was prompt. Her assistance through out all the time we were there was second to none. I’ll be back, and definitely will use Access Nepal Tour & Trekking.

Yes, international travelers do need a tourist visa for Nepal. Indian nationals are the only exceptions here. Tourist visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You can also get them through Nepali embassies or consulates before you travel.
The visa fees are: USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days. Please note that your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you initially intended to stay in Nepal.
Children below the age of ten years get their visas free of cost, which means they also need a valid passport. The one exception here are children with U.S. passports who have to pay regular adult visa prices because of the reciprocal fee rules between Nepal and the U.S.
The best time to visit Nepal really depends on what you want to do. For trekking, the autumn months (September to November) are the best seasons. You get clear skies and pleasant conditions.
Spring (March to May) is another good season for trekking with its moderate temperatures and the greenery that envelops the hills.
Winter (December to February) and Monsoon (June to August) are less popular due to these being less convenient on the trails but they are suitable for lower-altitude tours and city sightseeing.
Yes, generally Nepal is a safe and welcoming country for travelers. The one thing you have to remember while trekking and travelling in the mountains is that you have to follow your guide’s advice on pacing and acclimatisation to be safe in regards to your health.
