Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the aerial view of majestic Himalayas. Our representative will be waiting for you just outside the arrival hall with your name on the placard of Access Nepal. We will escort you to your hotel where we will be providing a briefing about the whole program. The rest of the evening is free so you can explore one of the most intriguing cultural hubs of Kathmandu, Thamel Street which is also known as “Backpackers Paradise”. In the evening we will have a welcome dinner in a Nepali restaurant along with a cultural show to enjoy and understand the diverse culture of Nepal.
After breakfast, we will commence our first sightseeing in Kathmandu valley which is a cultural hub of Nepal. In a small hill in Kathmandu stands, Swaymbhunath, a Buddhist stupa which according to legend was self emerged when the water drowned Kathmandu Valley was drained away by Manjushree for the settlement. You can see the view of the Kathmandu Valley from the stupa which is popular by the name “Monkey Temple”. Then we will be visiting Patan Durbar Square, 5th-century palace courtyard where the Buddhist and Hindu community of the same tribe stays together in peace from ancient times. Filled with Hindu temples and Buddhist stupas, Patan is a symbolic town that represents the religious harmony between Hindu and Buddhist. Our last destination will be Kathmandu Durbar Square, an ancient palace that carries the typical Nepali art and woodwork. The Durbar Square is filled with artistic architect and temples in all corners that tells you the history and lifestyle about the ancient Nepali civilization.
Early morning we will drive to Chitwan, Nature’s paradise. Chitwan National Park is a conservation area that is home to many magnificent birds, animals, and rare plants. The national park also homes the rare one-horn rhinoceros and Bengali Tiger besides the large variety of wildlife. The drive to National park is almost 6 hours from Kathmandu through serpentine Prithvi highway which provides a glimpse of rural Nepali life to its travelers. After reaching we will be engaged in multiple activities like canoeing, Tharu cultural show, Elephant/Jeep safari, bird watching, jungle walk, Tharu village walk, etc.
After finishing our remaining activities, we will drive to Bandipur. Bandipur is a small village in Tanahun district which was a trade center for the spices of India and Salt from Tibet. In the passing time, the trade center changed into a beautiful market and still after so many years the heritage Bandipur market has been able to enact the charm and the beauty of ancient Nepali architect and culture. Bandipur is also a viewpoint from where you can enjoy the beautiful views of mountains like Langtang, Manaslu, Ganesh, Annapurna and Boudha in clear days. The hill is also famous for the second largest cave in Asia, Siddha Cave, and other hiking trails.
Today after 4 hours drive we will reach the most picturesque place in Nepal, Pokhara. Filled with lakes, small towns and beautiful views of the mountain, Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. After reaching Pokhara we will take a walk in Lakeside area where we will also do boating to visit Tal Barahi Temple, Goddess Durga’s temple situated in the middle of the second largest lake in Nepal, Fewa Lake. After the sightseeing, we will rest for the night.
Sarangkot is one of the most famous sunrise viewpoints in Pokhara. The beam of light striking upon the beautiful mountains is breathtaking and you can also see the whole Pokhara valley from up top. Sarangkot is also an adventure center where the adventurer sky the touches with ultra flight, gets the aerial view from a parachute and rushes to ground through a zipline. After the sunrise excursion, we will drive back to the hotel for breakfast and then we will visit Davis Fall, an amazing waterfall that’s water creates the illusion of disappearing in wonderworld while falling down. Following the waterfall, we will visit Mahendra cave, an artistic cave with idols of gods and goddesses and waterfall inside. Then we will visit the Tibetan Refugee camp which was established after the refugee from Tibet fled during China’s invasion. The camp gives you a small introduction to Tibetan culture. Then we will drive to Peace pagoda, a celebratory stupa build to resemble the peace after the second world war. Among many peace stupa in the world, Pokhara’s Shanti Stupa is also famous for the view of mountains, lakes and Pokhara valley. In the evening we can walk on the lakeside enjoying the peaceful ambiance.
Early morning we will drive back to Kathmandu through the same serpentine highway enjoying the views of white water rivers, hills, and remote Nepali houses. The drive will take almost 7 hours.
Today’s destination is quite a mixture of the religious site and nature. We will be hiking through the trail of the Shivapuri, the closest national park from Kathmandu. The hike will go through the dense forests and we will explore the rich flora and fauna along the trail. Before entering the entrance Shivapuri, we will make a short stop in Buddhanilkantha, a famous religious site. The site contains one of the biggest limestone statue of Lord Vishnu (The Protector) laying in the mythical serpent. According to local belief, the statue was discovered a farmer along ago when he witness bleeding from a block of a boulder. When the boulder was dug up, the statue was found and it became one of the most popular religious sites for Hindu.
After breakfast, we will commence our sightseeing program for the day. The first destination on our list will be Boudhanath Stupa. A magnificent Buddhist stupa in the center of a densely populated city, the stupa holds a significant cultural value. In ancient times, traders who were traveling to Tibet for the commerce used to make offerings for the safe journey which gave it the name “Gateway to Tibet”. Our second destination will be Pashupatinath temple which unarguably one of the holiest and most popular Hindu temples in the world. According to the legend, after the demise of Shiva’s wife, the god took a form of a deer and hide inside the Gokarna forest. Lord Vishnu found about the situations and forced Shiva to leave for heaven. During the struggle, The deer horn was broken into three pieces and one of the pieces went under the place where the temple now stands making it an important holy place. After the sightseeing, we will drive to the nearest hill station of Kathmandu, Nagarkot which takes an hour and a half to reach.
You can have one of the most beautiful sunrise view from Nagarkot. The hill station is popular for its amazing panoramic views of the Himalayas and the evergreen pine forests. After enjoying the sunrise view, we will have our breakfast before visiting one of the oldest temples in Nepal, “Changunarayan Temple”. According to local belief, once Vishnu was trapped in the form of a tree in the forest after a curse. A shepherd’s cow always used to give her milk in the tree which let the shepherd have a suspicion that the tree is demonic. In the presence of a local priest, the shepherd tries to cut down the tree but it bleeds and changed into the form of Vishnu. Vishnu thanked for breaking the curse and the temple was built in the place. After Changunarayan we will drive to the historic town of Bhaktapur which is famous for the religious sentiment of the locals. Filled with palaces and temples, the town is an extraordinary example of Nepalese culture and tradition. Among the numerous tourist attraction, 55 window palace, Natayapol Temple, National art museum, etc are few fan-favorite. After the sightseeing, we will drive to Namobuddha Monastery. We will be staying inside the monastery where we will be joining the monks on prayer and enjoy the simple meal along with them.
We will spend the whole afternoon learning about Buddhism, joining the monks on prayers and talking with them. In the afternoon we will hike toward Balathali, a beautiful small village which is popular for the cultural reservation, traditional way of living followed by the local people. The hike is quite easy with descend from Namobuddha and takes almost 4 hours. The trail goes through a small forest and mostly through the paddy field where we can get a glance of the remote Nepal.
After breakfast, we will drive to Panaiti Village, a well-renowned salt trading center in the ancient time. The village still has intact the old Nepali architectures and is enriched with many interesting histories. After exploring Panauti, we will drive to Dhulikhel.
Today we will drive back to Kathmandu. After 2 hours drive, the rest of the day is free for you to make last-minute souvenir shopping or explore any local cuisine you wanna try. We will also take you to a fine restaurant for your farewell dinner. Enjoy the last night in Nepal.
